The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories and Ice Storm Warnings for all of Northeast Arkansas.įor the latest road conditions, follow these links: “Sunshine and big melting start Friday,” Vaughan concluded. “Freezing rain can accumulate on powerlines and trees causing power outages,” said Chief Meteorologist Ryan Vaughn. These areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory. Other parts of Region 8 will see lighter amounts of freezing rain and sleet. Some parts of Region 8 are under an Ice Storm Warning, where 0.25″ or more of freezing rain could occur. We are not expected to get above freezing until Thursday, but the clouds will remain, and we will see very little melting. The areas with the greatest impact in Region 8 include Cross, Crittenden, St. Warming shelters available amid power outage threatįreezing rain and sleet will start again after sunset Wednesday and last until about 4 a.m.
